Road-test preparation includes more than driving practice. Confirm the appointment and vehicle requirements early so you have time to correct any issue.
Personal items
- Your valid Ontario driver’s licence.
- Corrective lenses when your licence requires them.
- Your confirmed appointment details and any instructions provided by DriveTest.
- Any documents specifically requested for your test level.
Vehicle check
The test vehicle must be plated, insured, fit for the road and in proper working condition. Check the lights, signals, horn, tires, mirrors, windshield, seatbelts, parking brake and fuel or charge level before leaving for the test centre.
Arrive prepared
Plan your route, allow time for traffic and arrive early enough to complete check-in without rushing. A driving-school vehicle package must be confirmed in advance.
Review Ontario road-test requirements in the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook.
